For those fortunate enough to live here, every day has its own beauty. If you plan on visiting San Diego, this should be on your "must do" list. Suggestion, park in the lower lot and walk up through Torrey Pines State Reserve visiting all the loop trails along the way. Stop in for a brief respite in the old lodge and enjoy the views and history of the area. Don't forget to check on tidal conditions before heading for the beach. When the spirit moves you take the "flat rock" trail towards the beach and be prepared for some awesome views up and down the coast. If you visit during the spring bloom you will be treated to coastal color all along the hike. If you are really fortunate you might spy some dolphins traveling, or playing, off the coast just past the break water. Stop and enjoy, for occasionally you just might see them surfing the waves. Once you reach the beach it is an easy stroll back towards the park entrance. Enjoy the Park and leave a donation if finances allow, in order to help preserve and enhance this Southern California treasure.
