Fog in Yosemite Valley; Yosemite National Park, CA (order # wif39h)

Copyright Douglas Harvey

This lovely image was captured while I was photographing the valley with my wide-angle lens. It dawned on me that it would be fun to take an image of just the fog shrouded forest without all the distraction of the granite monoliths and waterfalls. I was very pleased with the results.

Yosemite has provided an incredible amount of inspiration as a photographer and as a naturalist. It is easy to understand how John Muir was so enchanted with this Sierra Nevada wonder. If you have never been to Yosemite, and the surrounding wildlands complex, do not hesitate another year. The incredible grandeur and beauty of this place is beyond description, but can be found of your own free will. Plan your trip for spring, summer, fall, or winter, it hardly matters for the results will be the same...exhultation in the experience!
