This lovely stream flows past the The Yellowstone Institute The Institute is an educational facility created in 1976 and designed to educate the public through a series of courses on wildlife, ecology, geology, Native American history, philosophy, and art. We almost always stop at this spot to enjoy the view and look for trout spawning up this little stream. We spend allot of time in this general vicinity scoping for wolves and grizzlies on the numerous mountain meadows. In June of 2002 we spent a couple of hours scoping just down the road and counted ten different grizzlies! I know that when we hike in these mountains grizzlies are present; however, you never expect to see so quite many in such a short span of time. Pepper spray is a must when we hike in Yellowstone. |
