| Looking west from Highway 198 out over a mixed forest of Giant Sequoia, sugar pine, red fir, white fir, Jeffrey pine, incense cedar, lodgepole pine and more. The Jeffrey pine is an interesting tree in that the bark smells like vanilla. On a warm summer day they are easily found by sniffing the bark of the tree. Very pleasant. One word of caution though, if your caught sniffing trees by your friends you are labeled for life. |
